Partner Jaime A. Saenz and Alison W. Colvin of the firm represented Defendants in this case in which Plaintiff sued for negligence and gross negligence regarding a worksite forklift injury. Jury trial began on January 25, 2010 and concluded on February 10, 2010. The jury found Plaintiff 50% negligent but also found Defendants negligent. The trial judge rendered a judgment notwithstanding the jury’s finding of 50% negligence attributable to Plaintiff in the full amount of damages of $2.56 million. Before the Court’s plenary power had expired (and any defense appeal would have been due), the case settled.
