Oscar H. Lopez was born and raised in Robstown, Texas. After graduating magna cum laude from Texas A&M University, he worked as a legislative aide for the late Texas State Senator Carlos F. Truan. Oscar went on to attend the University of Texas School of Law, graduating in 1998 with Honors. He then entered private practice in 1999 representing clients in the defense of personal injury litigation. When he is not working, Oscar enjoys storm-chasing, practicing martial arts, and barbecuing. Oscar is married to Sonia I. Lopez, and they have two wonderful children, Oscar III and Caroline.
